The part I think readers should focus on the most is the story of Peter. The widows live far from Christians, having supper on Good Friday. However, this does not mean that they are not Christians. This can be seen from the fact that they have a Twelve Passion Gospel.
Then, why did he bring up the story of St. Peter to them? This can be seen from the characteristics of Peter. St. Peter betrays Jesus when Jesus dies. Peter's behavior seems too insufficient to say that he is Jesus' student. Nevertheless, I think the reason why this story is contained in the Bible is that Peter means the general public. Peter, who is incomplete and full of mistakes, also means that he can believe in Jesus, become a believer, and become a true Christian through repentance.
In other words, Ivan's one word touched the hearts of widows. Ivan is a student attending the clergy academy, so nothing would be more meaningful than inspiring others through Christianity.
The reason why I gave 6 points about this story is that I couldn't find any theme. However, the process of searching for additional knowledge was meaningful.

The theme of the story is very much the title - The Student. Ivan is eager for wisdom, eager to touch the lives of others through faith, and eager to read meaning into the reaction he produced in Vasilisa. He is young, perhaps naive, and he fancies himself a very good Christian (because he goes hungry of Good Friday). As readers, we get to ask ourselves how we might be students, even if we are teachers or parents or whomever. What does it mean to be a student? It's actually a very good story for KMLA "students" to think about. Good analysis, and you clearly understand the story. You write well and have deep thoughts, so I hope you can keep up and not fall behind. Each story should only require a few minutes of typing and you don't need to be as detailed as this. You can just share your thoughts freely without research. Do not overlook the reading journal. It is more important then exams.
