These days, because of development of social media, it is getting easier to meet someone. However, keeping relationship is not easy enough in this rapidly changing society. The story 'Cat Person' is depicting the negative aspects of these modern society.

Let's focus on the conversation they had. Before Margot and Robert date, they had many conversations in their message. Even a little thing, they shared each other. It is a fun thing that they cannot keep talking well in real dating. It is a fact that the development of technology gives us many convenience, however it may takes out the way how we conversate with other people in off-line.

Their problem of lack of their conversation blowed out when they had a sexual relationship. Robet kept telling Margot, but he never wanted to listen to her well. Also, Margot did not express herself fully. The lack of problem made them a terrible experience.

After the real date, Margot kept on ghosting Robert. Readers can know why Margot wanted to avoid Robert, because this story is written by Margot's perspective. Her behavior on Robert's part would not have been easy to understand. However, his behavior after receiving a tentative breaking up notice, using inappropriate words and threatening Margot is horrifying.

I read this story based on the subject 'lack of conversation', but there are lots of things to talk about without this one. Maybe it is the reason that this is the most read story in magazine New Yorker even it's been only five years since this story is posted.
